About Cecil Sharp's People.org.uk

This research by David Sutcliffe is ongoing. Feedback and corrections are welcomed (via Contacts page). David is a freelance researcher with a particular interest in Somerset folksongs. He is a morris dancer with Taunton Deane and is an occasional singer. His biography of Rev Charles Marson was published in 2010 (The Keys of Heaven Cockasnook Books).

A Maltwood grant from the Somerset Archaeological & Natural History Society initially supported this project. Users are welcome to print out information for private and community use but we ask that provenance of the material be acknowledged in any use. Every effort has been made to ensure that we have not infringed copyright of sources, collectors and researchers. In the event of any queries, please use the Contacts page.

The support of the English Folk Dance & Song Society is much appreciated - in allowing reproduction of Sharp’s photo collection and in making available its library resources and staff time. Many thanks.
