Henry Adams at Stroud Union workhouse, Glos (1832-?): age 80, 1 song 2 Apr 1912: Henry’s song ‘Jolly Waggoner’ FT2759 seems a strange choice because Henry never worked on the land in all his life. Like his father before him, Henry was a house painter in every census. He was baptised on 1/4/1832 at Winterbourne (North Bristol), second son of James and Anne Adams. He married Sarah Pegler in April qr 1854 (Cardiff reg 11a 333) and the couple settled in Stonehouse village, 3 miles W of Stroud. They had 6 children. Sarah died in 1887 and Henry ended up in the Stroud workhouse in both the 1901 and 1911 censuses. Date of his death not yet known.
