Joseph Bateman at Dunmow Union: age 65 (acc to Sharp) 1 song ‘The Barley Mow’ (FT2797) on 14 Sept 1912: Joseph Bateman was born c1849 at Great Dunmow. His parents have yet to be traced and he never married. He was listed in the 1911 workhouse records as aged 61, single, former farm labourer (ref RG14/10450 p13). He probably died April qr 1916 (Dunmow 4a 867) aged 68.
