Caroline Lawrence of Merriott (1846-1920): age 59, 1 song 'Rout has come for the blues' (FT633) on 5 Sept 1905: Caroline was born Caroline Wills on 1/10/1846 in Merriott, daughter of George Wills (weaver) & Sarah. She married Thomas Lawrence, older brother of William Lawrence who married the singer Selina (Pattemore), so Caroline and Selina were sisters-in-law. Caroline also had a son out of wedlock (William Wills bp 11/12/1870) before marrying Thomas Lawrence on 27/1/1874 at Merriott church. They had 8 children, 1 of whom died young. Caroline probably died June qr 1920 Chard 5c 453 aged 73.
