Eliza Dunston of Mark (c1822-1908): age 84, 1 song “Seventeen come Sunday’ (FT1197) on 17 Jan 1907: Sharp’s handwriting looks like ‘Dunstan’ but it’s definitely ‘Dunston’. Eliza Bowden, daughter of William Bowden, was born c1822 and married John Dunstone at Bedminster St John on 6/2/1841. They had 10 children. John Dunstone was an agricultural labourer or small farmer all his life at Mark village. Only in the 1901 census (RG13/2321 f8 p8) was his surname written ‘Dunston’ without an ‘e’. That is how it was spelled at his burial 26/2/1906. Eliza lived on till she too was buried on 22/10/1908 at Mark (again spelling Dunston).
