Elizabeth Starkey of Over Stowey (1834-1912): age 73, 5 songs (FT1236ff) on 24 Jan 1907: Elizabeth Palmer was baptised on 20/7/1834 at Over Stowey church, daughter of Joseph Palmer, ‘broomer’ and his wife Elizabeth. Elizabeth Jr married Thomas Starkey, labourer at Over Stowey church on 11/2/1856. They had 8 children, 3 of whom died young. They always lived at Bincombe and Thomas was listed as a ‘shepherd, aged 71’ in the 1901 census (RG13/2280 f89 p4). Elizabeth Starkey died Oct qr 1912 (5c 325).
