Yarrow Gill at Ely workhouse: age 72, 1 song ‘False Lamkin’ FT2654 on 11 Sept 1911: Yarrow Gill was baptised at Littleport, 6 miles NE of Ely, on 28/12/1838, 6th of 8 children of John Gill, agricultural labourer and his wife Sarah. He never married. He went with some Littleport friends to Plaistow (West Ham) to work as a labourer in the sewer (1861 census) and then spent 20 years as an agricultural labourer in Norfolk. He had returned to Littleport by 1901 census (RG13/1547 f53 p17). He died July qr 1920 aged 81 (3b 475).
