Mrs Leverington at Littleport: age 40? ‘In Oxford City’ FT2634 on 8 Sept 1911: This singer is probably Mrs Mary Leverington, although she was 23 when she met Sharp as opposed to his guess of ‘40?’ There was no-one else of that surname at Littleport at the time. Further research may yield new results.

Mary Laws was born c1888 in Welney, Norfolk and married Harry Leverington at Welney on 23/10/1909. Harry was a horsekeeper on a farm (1911 census at Littleport). He was killed in the First World War in Aug 1917 at Flanders. The 1921 census shows Mary as a widow, aged 32, living in Littleport.
