Mrs Annie Graddon of Stogursey (1858-1943): age 45, 1 song ‘Plymouth Town’ (FT986) on 11 Aug 1906: Sharp wrote ‘Mrs Guddon age 45’ but the singer’s name was actually Graddon, Mrs Annie Graddon. She was baptised Ann Coles at Stogursey church on 25/7/1858, daughter of Robert Coles, stonemason and his wife Sophia.

Annie married Samuel Graddon, stonemason at Stogursey church on 30/7/1877. They had 17 children, although 2 died young. Such a large family had a live-in Granny with Annie’s widowed mother Sophia present in both 1881 and 1891. In 1901 the family were living at 9, High St, Stogursey (ref RG13/2264 f32 p3) – a 6 roomed house accommodating Samuel, Annie and 10 children. Annie lived on till Dec 1943 (ref Exmoor 5c 344 age 85).
