William Norton at Marylebone workhouse: age 65, 2 songs ‘Bold Turpin’ and ‘Grey Mare’ on 10 Oct 1908: In FT1964 Sharp noted that William was an Englishman, born off Edgware Rd: used to hear the Turpin song at an amateur music hall called Cosmathicker (?) in Bell St, Edgware Rd.

William Norton appears in the 1911 census for Marylebone workhouse on p45 ‘age 69, single, gen labourer, place of birth Not Known’. Perhaps the 1921 will have better information.
