Mrs Selina Lawrence of Merriott (1839-1913): age 66, 1 song 'Bold Fisherman' (FT600) on 25 Aug 1905: Selina Pattemore was born 5/5/1839 in Merriott, daughter of William Pattemore (labourer) and Hannah. As a young girl, she was a glover, whereas her two younger sisters worked at the flax factory. Selina had a son out of wedlock (George Edward Pattemore b1860) and then married William Lawrence on 24/12/1864 at Merriott. Neither could sign their name.

William was the son of John Lawrence (weaver) and Mary. He was an agricultural labourer all his life and together they raised a family of 11 children, 2 of whom died young. William died in April 1907 and Selina on 22/3/1913 aged 73.
