In the 1911 Marylebone workhouse census there was a William Smith, aged 66 (and therefore 63 in 1908), single man, a tutor, birthplace Blackburn, Lancashire. No further evidence of this man and he was not in the workhouse in the 1901 census. Perhaps the 1921 census will provide details.
