John Webb at Pillerton: age 70, 2 songs FT2626/7 on 23 August 1911 + 3 songs FT2777ff on 11 Apr 1912: John Henry Webb was baptised on 6/12/1840 at Halford, Warwickshire, 6th of 9 children of Benjamin Webb, agricultural labourer and his wife Maria. Halford is 4 miles N of Shipston-on-Stour and very near to Armscote, where Sharp often stayed with intermediary Mrs Mary Stanton.

John Webb married Maria Gardner of Pillerton Hersey at her church on 24/11/1863 and they remained at Pillerton for the rest of their lives – 1901 census ref is RG13/2947 f33 p10. They had no children. John was an agricultural labourer all his life. His date of death is yet to be determined.
