Alfred Harris of Shepton Beauchamp (1843-1910): age 61, 4 songs (FT396-9) on 4 Sept 1904: Alfred Harris was baptised 4/10/1843 at Seavington St Michael church, son of Thomas Harris, weaver and his wife Ann. On 2/4/1864 Alfred married Selina Rawlings, 20, schoolmistress at Seavington St Mary church. They had 2 children but Selina died (20/4/1871 age 32). Alfred was remarried 5/12/1874 at Shepton Beauchamp church to Georgina Davey, spinster daughter of Charles Davey, labourer. They had 2 children. In 1891 census at Shepton Alfred was 47, agricultural labourer, and Georgina was 37, a glover. In 1901 Georgina was a glover (finisher) and daughter Annie also a glover (machinist). They were living next to the New Inn (ref RG13/2290 f97 p2). Alfred was buried 9/12/1910 age 66 in Shepton Beauchamp church.
