Somerset - Hambridge surrounds

From their base at Hambridge Sharp and Marson explored the surrounding villages and met 19 singers between 1903-05, collecting 86 songs. 14 were men, 5 were women.

Of the men, 7 were agricultural labourers or working on land; 1 each clergyman, miller, farmer, Navy pensioner, postman, hawker, general labourer. Of the women, 2 were glovers, 1 was a laundress.
