Mrs Caroline Hill of Long Load (1818-1905): age 86, 2 songs (FT451, 458) on 27 Dec 1904: Caroline Hill was 86 when Sharp met her at ‘Huish on the Moor’. She was born in Long Sutton and lived most of her life at Long Load. Her husband George Hill (agricultural labourer b Yeovil c1820) died in the 1870s and left Caroline to bring up 6 children. In 1871 & 1881 she was a glover and so were her daughters. She died a year after meeting Sharp on 2/11/1905 (Huish church).
