Isaac Perkins of Nettlebridge (1834-1914): age 73, 1 song ‘Seeds of Love’ (FT1507) on 14 Sept 1907: Isaac Perkins was baptised on 21/9/1834 at Stratton-on-the-Fosse church, second son of Thomas Perkins, coalminer and his wife Elizabeth.

At his wedding at Stratton on 20/2/1857 to Martha Carter (daughter of William Carter, coalminer), Isaac was himself a coal miner. In the 1861 census, however, he was listed as a ‘sawyer’ and remained so in all subsequent censuses. Isaac and Martha had 4 children and remained in Stratton-on-the-Fosse all their lives. Isaac was illiterate and never signed his name. He was buried at Stratton on 10/4/1914.
