John King of Chew Stoke (1864-?): age 35, 1 song ‘Ben the Hackney coachman’ (FT1526) on 26 Dec 1907: Sharp wrote that John was 35 in 1907 but this seems flattering (he was 43). John King was baptised at Chew Magna church on 25/12/1864, 4th child of Charles King, agricultural labourer and his wife Emily. In 1901 he was unmarried, a boarder at the Yew Tree Inn at Chew Stoke, occupation Farm Bailiff. His future life is not traced.
