Mr Walter Perry of Donnington Wood: age 38, 1 song 'Dives and Lazarus' in Oct 1911 (FT2715) and 1 carol ‘Virgin Unspotted’ (FT2726) on 18 Dec 1911; the latter was published in the Journal of the Folk-Song Society 5 (1914):

Walter Perry was baptised on 2/3/1873 at Donnington Wood, 5th of 10 children of Isaac Perry, ‘National schoolmaster’, and his wife Margaret. Isaac was the village schoolmaster for 35 years and Walter took over from him upon his death in 1896. Isaac was also the organist at St Matthew’s church, Donnington (founded 1852). By these connections Walter Perry had the knowledge to point Sharp towards several local singers.

Walter married Clara Bourne at Donnington on 21/12/1898 and they had 3 children. He died at Lilleshall on 20/6/1931, leaving £1,361.
